April 13 2023 Update: The major update is about the $8.9 billion over the next 25 years settlement offer. Hyperbole is not exempt attorneys representing the victims claim it the largest “fraudulent deal ever in United States history.”

Despite all the legal jargon, J&J does not really believe this bankruptcy will be able to last. It is however a method to push for this $8.9 billion settlement and keep the pressure on plaintiffs.

April 10 2023 update: Bloomberg offers an informative piece on a law that has been passed that has been passed in New Jersey that is shedding new light on litigation funding in the baby powder suit for class actions. The funders who fund litigation Virage Capital Management and TRGP Capital invested in hundreds of claims that were brought against Johnson & Johnson (J&J) regarding talc products, in exchange in exchange for a portion of settlements.
